TRAINEE SERVICES INFORMATION

 

Trainee Orientation

 

During the registration process trainees receive an orientation of the Training Centers’s facilities, services, evaluation policies, graduation requirements, and personal and professional support resources.

 

Facilities & Equipment

 

The Training Center facilities, equipment, and surrounding premises fully comply with all federal, state and local ordinances and regulations, including fire safety, building safety, disabled persons access and health safety requirements.

 

Parking

 

Free Parking is available at the Training Center site. The Talent and Skills Training Center is not responsible nor liable for any damages or loss to vehicles parked on the Training Center parking lot or the adjacent areas. Please make sure your vehicle is properly secured, locked, and your valuables are removed or undetectable.

 

Visitors

 

Parents, spouses, prospective employers, and interested friends are cordially invited to visit the Training Center at any time, with appropriate notice. Special arrangements will be made for groups. Anyone who disrupts the smooth operation of the Training Center, may be asked to leave the premises immediately. Trainees are not allowed to bring children into the training areas without approval from the administration.

 

Housing Information

 

Talent and Skills Training Center is a non-residential program and does not provide housing for trainees.

 

Job Placement Assistance

 

The Talent and Skills Training Center program is designed to assist individuals, unemployed or otherwise, to develop and maintain effective work and life skills.  This assistance consists of preparing participants to successfully perform these skills and apply them to their employment and career aspirations. Currently, the Training Center program does not include direct job placement assistance.

 

Library and Resources

 

Online access to the Lancaster Public Library is available to students at computer stations located in the Training Center. This enables students to access career development resources, conduct career related research, conduct job searches, and further develop their work and life skills, including academic assistance. This accessibility also greatly enhances the learning experiences of students and serves to broaden their perspectives. ​Family Rights & Privacy Act

 

The Talent and Skills Training Center complies with the confidentiality and trainee/student accessibility provision of the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-380, section 438), commonly known as the Buckley Amendment.  Confidentiality of trainee records is strictly protected.  Information on trainees is not available to anyone without:

  • Written request and release from the trainee,

  • A court order, or

  • Other oversight agency’s requirements.

A trainee may access their own records by submitting a written request to the Training Center.

 

Pregnancy

 

Pregnant trainees must provide written statements for each trimester of pregnancy, and as requested by the Training Center, from their attending physician stating approval for continuation of course of study, including any prescribed or recommended limitations.

 

Grievance Procedure
 

Persons seeking to resolve problems or complaints must first contact the instructor in charge. If the problem cannot be resolved in this manner, the Program director must be contacted. Requests for further action may be made to the program director. If a person wishes to file a written complaint, they may do so.  All written complaints will be resolved within 10 days and responses will be returned to the person in writing.
